The United States Mint is set to bring its latest 5-ounce silver bullion coin to market. The Salt River Bay National Historic Park and Ecological Preserve America the Beautiful Quarter launched earlier this year and, has been the case for the series, the 5-ounce silver version of the coin goes on sale today. Sales will begin promptly at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. The coin is priced at $178.25 and only 13,750 will be available for purchase. There is no purchase limit per household on the coin.
The 5-ounce coin is identical to the the America the Beautiful Quarter with the exception of the smooth edge versus the reeded edge of the quarter.
Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve is a living museum on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Salt River Bay possesses an archeological and historical heritage more than 2,000 years old that exists within a dynamic ecosystem supporting threatened and endangered species. In 1992, Congress created ecological preserve as part of the National Park System to preserve, protect, and tell the story of its rich natural and cultural heritage.
