The New York International Numismatic Convention (NYINC) has announced the cancellation of their 2021 Convention. The convention was originally scheduled to be held in January 2021 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. However, the board at NYINC has decided to cancel the event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and uncertainty surrounding its impact on events early next year.
Due to issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 49th Annual New York International Numismatic Convention, previously scheduled for January 8-17, 2021 at the Grand Hyatt New York, 109 East 42nd Street, New York, NY 10017, has been cancelled.

The announcement continues to say that any hotel reservations made through the convention will automatically be cancelled and refunds issued. If attendees made reservations on their own, they will need to cancel those directly with the hotel.
The convention however has already scheduled their 2022 convention. The dates for that event will be January 7-16, 2022 with the bourse activities taking place January 14-16, 2022.
The cancellation is one of the first for coin shows or conventions scheduled in 2021 and adds to a long list of national and international events cancelled due to the pandemic. With health experts concerned about a “double whammy” of COVID-19 and seasonal flu this winter, it is likely we will see more shows in early 2021 cancelled or postponed.
