The United States Mint is set to open sales of the limited edition American Eagle gold and silver Proof coins with the end of World War II privy mark next week. Sales of both the gold proof and silver proof will start at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific on the Mint’s site.
Both the gold and silver coins have the same Obverse and Reverse designs of the standard releases for each coin. However, on the Obverse of each coin will be a privy mark “V75”, reflective of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The American Eagle gold proof with the privy mark has not had its pricing released, the normal practice of the Mint on bullion products. The price is $2,600 and you can find the coin on the Mint’s site here. Production of this coin is extremely limited, with only 1,945 (symbolic of the year 1945 which was the end of the war) with a household limit of 1 coin.
Meanwhile, the American Eagle silver proof privy coin will be available on the same day. It is priced at $83.00 and has a production limit of 75,000 which, for the silver American Eagle, is quite limited. It will also have a household purchase limit of one coin.
For readers who are interested in either of these coins, it is highly recommended that you be on the Mint’s site prior to Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific and continually refresh your browser to try to purchase one of these coins. Demand for both are expected to be exceptionally high with sellouts likely within minutes on both coins.
