The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic product sales report for the week ending November 7, 2021. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. The report shows that the Mint sold 20,929 numismatic products last week. This is up from the nearly 17,000 products the Mint sold according to last week’s report. For the year, the Mint has now sold 10,573,666 products.
The top selling product for the United States Mint last week was the 2021 Proof Set. The standard annual set added another 8,580 sets to its sales total, which is now at 398,358. It was by far the most popular product sold last week, eclipsing the second top seller by over 5,000 units. That second top seller was the premium proof set, the 2021 Silver Proof Set. 3,372 of those sets were sold last week, pushing its total sales for the year to 245,931. Both the standard and premium proof sets are still trailing their 2020 counterparts in sales totals but equally, both are within striking distance if sales remain strong the rest of this year.
The 2021 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set was the third best seller last week with 2,591 sets sold. According to the Mint’s report, 58,858 of the sets have now been sold in its first few weeks of availability. The fourth top seller was the 2021 Christa McAuliffe Proof Silver Dollar. 619 of the one ounce silver coins were sold last week. This commemorative coin now has the second highest commemorative sales total of any coin in the past two years. Only the curved 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Dollar has higher sales.
Rounding out the top five in sales was the new 2021 United States Mint Ornament. The ornament now has nearly 4,000 units sold in just its first few weeks of availability.
