The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, February 27, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. In this week’s report, the Mint that an impressive 686,850 numismatic products were sold. This is well over the less than 20,000 products sold according to last week’s report.
Unsurprisingly, the top ten selling products list was dominated by the new National Purple Heart Hall of Honor commemorative coins. Various products of the new commemorative took 9 of the top 11 sales totals for last week and was the key driver to the high sales total for the Mint last week. Taking the top selling spot honors was the proof silver dollar commemorative with 19,644 coins pre-sold by the Mint while the proof half dollar was the second top seller with 10,360 coins pre-sold. The uncirculated half dollar was the fifth top seller (6,258) and the uncirculated silver dollar was the sixth top seller (6,170). The three-coin proof set was the ninth best seller while the proof $5 gold coin rounded out the top ten with 1,345 coins pre-sold.
The rest of the top ten selling products for the Mint last week were also newly released products. The American Innovation Dollar honoring Rhode Island was released last week and all four of the products offered were in the top ten selling products list. The 25-coin roll from Denver of the new dollar took the third sales position with 6,949 rolls. It was followed by the Philadelphia minted roll with 6,947. Further down the list, in the seventh and eighth top selling products list are the 100-coin bags for the new coin. the Philadelphia minted bag was the seventh best seller with 2,762 bags sold while the Denver minted bag had the exact same sales total in eighth.
