The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, April 3, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 69,047 numismatic products in the last week. This is up just slightly over the 62,000 from last week’s report.
For the year, the Mint has now sold 8.913 million products to investors and collectors.
Unsurprisingly, the top selling product for the Mint last week was its newest release: The 2022 American Women Quarter Program Silver Proof Set. 57,735 of the sets were reportedly sold by the Mint in the product’s first week of availability. It sold out very quickly on its release day and is currently listed as unavailable on the Mint’s site. It is unclear when the Mint will have them back in stock and readers are encouraged to use the Remind Me feature on the Product Page to get a reminder when they do become available again.
The second top seller was 2021 Proof Set with 2,307 sets sold for the week. That puts last year’s Proof Set at just shy of half-a-million in total sales at 493,601. Meanwhile, the 2021 Silver Proof Set was also in the top ten selling list in fifth position with 659 sets sold while the 2021 Uncirculated Coin Set was seventh with 449 sets reported sold by the Mint.
The 2022 commemoratives released by the Mint continued their strong sales this past week. The National Purple Heart Proof Silver Dollar was the third top seller last week with another 1,206 coins pre-sold while the Negro Leagues Baseball Silver Proof was fourth with 717 coins sold.
