The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, May 1, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 50,50 numismatic products last week, double the number of sales from the previous week.
For the year, the Mint has now sold 9,727,199 numismatic products to collectors and investors.
Of the top ten selling products for the United States Mint last week, all save one were 2022 releases and four of the top ten were new releases from the previous week. Taking the top selling spot was the 2022 Proof Set. 12,650 sets were sold in the previous week according to the Mint, bumping its total sales for the year to 231,898. It is still behind the sales pace of the 2021 Proof Set which, ironically, was also on this week’s sales report as the tenth top seller.
The second, third, fifth and sixth top sellers this week were the latest American Innovation Dollar releases honoring Vermont. The 25-coin roll from Philadelphia was the third top seller with 6,997 rolls sold. That was followed by the same roll from Denver. The 100-coin bags from Philadelphia and Denver both sold their allotment of available bags with 2,770 bags sold each. In the middle of the new A.I. dollar sales was the 2022-W American Eagle silver proof. Another 4,972 coins were last week according to the Mint, putting its total sales at 495,919.
