The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, May 8, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 55,352 numismatic products last week, slightly higher than the Mint reported in last week’s report.
For the year, the Mint has now sold 9,782,551 numismatic products to collectors and investors.
Unsurprisingly, the top three selling products for the Mint last week were its three newest releases. Taking the top sales position for the week was the 2022 Kennedy Half Dollar 2-Roll Set. The set reported sales of 22,000 in its first few days of availability to comfortably be the top seller for the Mint. Taking the second position was the Zachary Taylor Presidential Silver Medal. The latest medal in the series racked up 12,599 medals sold in its first week of being available to collectors. Meanwhile, the 2022 Kennedy Half Dollar 200-Coin bag rounded out the top three in sales with 10,999 bags sold.
The 2022 Proof Set continued its strong start to sales by adding another 5,459 sets to its sales total for the year. According to the Mint, 237,357 sets have now been sold. Rounding out the top five was another annual set, the 2022 American Eagle Gold Proof Four-Coin Set. 1,240 of these premium sets were sold last week, making them a virtual sell out for this year.
