The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, May 22, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 13,313, down slightly from the just over 14,000 the Mint reported selling in last week’s report.
For 2022, the United States Mint has now sold 9,810,469 numismatic products to investors and collectors.
This week’s report shows that the Mint had sales of a wide range of 2022 and 2021 released products. Taking the top selling spot was this year’s Proof Set. The annual set saw sales of 5,468 sets last week, pushing it total sales to 247,810 since its release. This was followed by the 2021 Proof Set which was the second top seller. 1,455 of last year’s annual set were sold last week. The 2021 Proof Set has now had just shy of half million sets sold at 499,489.
A surprise can be found with the third top seller for the Mint last week, the 2021 American Eagle Silver Reverse Proof Two-Coin Designer Edition. This extremely limited edition set had a few hundred sets become available last week, which quickly sold out. 824 of the sets were sold according to the Mint’s report, putting sales at 124,747. That is just shy of the 125,000 that the Mint designated to be available so it is possible it could pop-up again this week or next. If you are interested in trying to get the set, you can find it here and sign up for the Remind Me feature to get notified should it come back in stock.
The 2022 National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Proof Silver Dollar took the forth top seller position in this week’s report. 724 of the commemorates were sold in the last week while the 2021-S American Eagle Silver Proof (Type-2) rounding out the top five just behind the commemorative with 721 coins sold.
