The United States Mint will begins sales of the 2022 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set next week. Sales of the four-coin set will go on sale starting at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific on the Mint’s website. This year, the set is priced at $24.00. There are no household limits on the number of sets that can be purchased nor has the Mint set any production or mintage limits for the set. The 2022 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set is eligible for the Mint’s Enrollment Program which allows you to get the set each year as a subscription service. This year, the American Innovation Dollar Proof Set will have all four of the 2022 coins in the series in a single lens. As a reminder, the four coins in the series set for release this year include:
- Rhode Island – Nathanael Herreshoff’s Reliance Yacht
- Vermont – Snowboarding
- Kentucky – Bluegrass music
- Tennessee – Rural electrification by the Tennessee Valley Authority
Introduced in 2018, the American Innovation Dollar will consist of 57 coins. From 2019 through to 2032, four new coins will be release each year. According to the Mint, these coins will be “celebrating innovations and innovators” from each of the fifty states, the District of Columbia and five United States Territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Island, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The Obverse for all of these coins will remain the same as the 2018 coins, depicting the Statue of Liberty. The Reverse of each coin will change based on the state or territory it is released for and the innovation it is celebrating.
