The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 155,565 numismatic products last week, buoyed by the sales of the Mint’s latest product release: The 2022-W American Eagle Uncirculated coin. The total sales were nearly ten-times the amount of products sold in last week’s report.
The uncirculated 2022-W American Eagle easily was the top selling numismatic product for the United States Mint last week with sales of 143,738. Surprisingly, the coin is still available according to the Mint’s website. The Mint indicated only 160,000 of the coins would be produced so quantities are limited. The 40-coin roll of the new uncirculated Eagle was the third top seller according to the Mint’s report, with sales of 803 rolls.
Sandwiched between the two American Eagle products was the 2022 Proof Set. It’s 5,081 sets sold pushed total sales for the year to 256,925. That is approximately half of the total sales of the 2021 Proof Set, which also made it into the top ten in sales this week according to the Mint’s report. Meanwhile, the 2022 Negro Leagues Baseball Proof Silver Dollar with Privy Mark was the fourth top seller and the 2022 National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Proof Silver Dollar rounding out the top five in sales.
