The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, June 26, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold an impressive 189,924 numismatic products. This is a dramatic increase over the nearly 31,000 reported in last week’s report. However, the meteoric increase in sales can be attributed to the release of the 2022 Silver Proof Set.
For 2022, the United States Mint has now sold 10,274,837 numismatic products to collectors, enthusiasts, and investors.
Of the nearly 190,000 numismatic products sold by the United States Mint last week, over 173,000 of those can be attributed to the 2022 Silver Proof Set. Released last week, it accounted for 91.5% of all numismatic product sales for the Mint last week and was easily to top selling product. The premium annual proof set, which remains available, is just over 100,000 sets away from the total sales of the 2021 Silver Proof Set, which sold 286,962 total sets.
In a distant second on the top ten sales list was the standard proof set for this year. The Mint reported a total of 4,525 sets were sold last week, putting total sales for the year at 268,793. Meanwhile, the 2022-W American Eagle Silver Uncirculated coin was the third top seller with 2,626 coins sold.
