The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven-day period ending on Sunday, July 3, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 23,080 numismatic products to collectors and investors. This is more on par with the Mint’s normal sales week-to-week average, unlike last week’s sales spike due to the 2022 Silver Proof Set.
For 2022, the United States Mint has now sold 10,297,917 numismatic products to collectors, enthusiasts, and investors.
Unsurprisingly, the top selling product for this past week was its latest release. The American Innovation Dollar honoring Kentucky was released on June 28th in the form of bags & rolls. A total of four products were released, all of which were sold out prior to release thanks to Enrollment Programs, and all four were in the Mint’s top ten selling products for the week. Taking the top two sales positions were the 25-coin rolls from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints respectively. These were followed by the 100-coin bags from Philadelphia and Denver in the forth and fifth selling positions. Interrupting the new product taking the top four positions was the 2022 Proof Set. The standard annual release saw another 3,270 sets sold this past week, pushing sales totals for the year to just over 272,000.
Moving down the list, to the sixth top seller, was the silver Uncirculated 2022-W American Eagle. Sales of the one-ounce silver coin have now passed the 150,000 unit mark with an additional 2,517 coins sold last week. Meanwhile, the 2021 and 2022 American Innovation Dollar Proof Sets took the seventh and eighth top sales positions in this week’s report. Rounding out the top ten were the 2022 National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Proof Silver Dollar and the 2021 Silver Proof Set.
Ironically, the 2022 Silver Proof set, which drove sales last week, had a dismal week with 8,330 sets returned or cancelled.
