The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, January 15, 2023. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This is the first report of 2023 that reflects sales for the new year. The Mint reported 3.832 million bullion coins sales to Authorized Purchasers in the last week.
Topping sales last week was the silver American Eagle. According to the Mint’s report, 3,499,000 of the one-ounce silver bullion coins were sold. From another perspective, the silver Eagle accounted for 91% of all bullion sales by the Mint last week. Turning to the gold American Eagle coins, all had reported sales last week. The one-ounce gold Eagle had sales of 90,000 coins, while the 1/2-ounce had a sales total of 34,000 for the week. According to the Mint’s report, the 1/25th-ounce Eagle saw sales, while the 1/10th-ounce Eagle had 115,000 coins sold of 50,000 coins. Indeed, the only American Eagle bullion product that did not have reported sales last week was the one-ounce platinum coin, which has yet to enter into production at the Mint.
Finally, the American Buffalo had sales of 44,000, according to the Mint’s report.
