The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, August 6, 2023. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. The Mint reported 895,000 bullion coin sales in the past week, with reported sales across just three of the seven products available for purchase by Authorized Purchasers.
Last week, the top-selling bullion coin product to Authorized Purchasers was the one-ounce silver American Eagle. The Mint reported that 887,000 coins were sold last week, pushing total sales past the eleven million coin mark for the year (11,815,000). This is on par with the Silver Eagle’s sales this week last year.
The second top-selling bullion coin last week was the gold one-ounce American Eagle. According to the Mint’s report, 5,000 coins were sold to Authorized Purchasers last week. That puts total sales for 2023 at 666,500. No other American Eagle products had reported sales last week.
Moving to the American Buffalo, the Mint reported 3,000 additional coins were sold last week. The Mint now indicates that 293,000 of the one-ounce gold coins have been sold in 2023.
