Mississippi American Innovation Dollar Bags & Rolls Sales Begin Today

The fourth and final American Innovation Dollar for 2023 will be available later today. The Mississippi American Innovation Dollar will be available starting at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. It will be available in 100-coin bags or 25-coin rolls. All the products for this release have production and household limits of 10 for each product.

The Mississippi American Innovation $1 Coin reverse (tails) design features a pair of human lungs in the background while a surgical assistant passes forceps to the surgeon during the first lung transplant surgery. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “FIRST HUMAN LUNG TRANSPLANT,” and “MISSISSIPPI.”

LIke previous American Innovation Dollar releases, there will be a total of four products available:

  • 25-Coin Roll (Philadelphia) – $34.50
  • 25-Coin Roll (Denver) – $34.50
  • 100-Coin Bag (Philadelphia) – $117.50
  • 100-Coin Bag (Denver) – $117.50

Production limits of the 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags are low, and availability will be limited. Further, the Mint has limited each product to a household limit of 10 on each product. However, unlike the 2022 American Innovation Dollar products, these bags and rolls are expected to be available later today, albeit limited, with many already claimed as part of the Mint’s subscription program for the American Innovation Dollar series. If you are subscribed to the program, you should have already received an email from the Mint to confirm your shipping & billing details.

The new American Innovation Dollar coin came about through legislation passed in 2018 and is set to run through 2032. There will be 57 coins released in the program, with the first one released on December 14, 2018. However, that coin was an introductory coin to show the coin off to the public and was never released for circulation.
