The United States Mint has released its weekly Numismatic Product Sales report for the seven days ending Sunday, September 1, 2024. The report covers the Mint’s numismatic product sales, such as commemorative coins and annual sets. It is separate from the bullion sales report. The Mint reported net sales of 135,386 numismatic products in the last week. It was one of the highest sales totals for the year, thanks to the Mint’s latest release. Nine of the top ten selling products last week were 2024 releases.
Last week’s top-selling product was also the Mint’s latest, the 2024 Uncirculated Coin Set. In its first week of availability, the set had reported sales of 136,631 sets, making it easily the number one product for the week. It was followed distantly by the 2024 Proof Set. That annual set added another 7,287 sets to its total sales, now at 262,920. Finally, the 2024 Silver Proof Set was the third top seller, with 1,414 sets sold last week. That puts the premium annual set’s total sales at 141,513 since its release.
The only non-2024 product in the top ten last week was the 2023 Uncirculated Set. The Mint reported that 551 of last year’s sets were sold last week. It is not uncommon for the previous year’s uncirculated sets or proof sets to enjoy a sales bump when the current year’s sets are released.
