The United States Mint today has released the 2019-W American Eagle in Uncirculated finish. The one ounce silver coin is $46.95 and available now on the Mint’s site. This year’s American Eagle maintains the popular designs on the obverse (heads) and reverse (tails) as it has since the program’s inception in 1986.
The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride. This is the same design that was first found on the Walking Liberty Half Dollars from 1916-1947
The reverse features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon, and arrows in the left.
When you order the 2019-W American Eagle, it will come in a blue presentation box as well as a certificate of authenticity from the US Mint.
The American Eagle silver bullion coins remain one of the most popular coin series offered annually by the United States Mint. The first issue was in 1986 and has been a part of each year’s annual bullion products since then. There are now also gold and palladium variants of Eagles.
Finally, for those of you are enrolled in the American Eagle’s product enrollment, orders were placed for those this morning and you should have received a confirmation email from the Mint. If you have not enrolled in the program, it is free to do so and details can be found on the Eagle’s product page.
