The United States Mint has released their weekly sales report for the seven day period ending August 4, 2019. It showed that the 2019 Native American $1 Coin & Currency Set continued to lead the pack, adding another 3,823 units to its sales total. Throughout the rest of the report, there were a few other surprises.
With the nearly 4,000 more in sales, the Native American coin & currency set has now sold 28,639 units overall. That is over half of the 50,000 that will be made. Right now they are still available if you haven’t picked one up and there is no household limit.
Coming in second in sales was the 2019 Proof Set. The annual set has now sold 378,786 units with the addition of 3,688 in the past week. It continues to be a weekly fixture in the sales report as has been the 2019 Silver Proof Set. That set was third in sales this week, adding 2,390 units to bring its sales total to 282,428.
In the afterglow of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, the silver proof commemorative of it continues to sell well. Another 2,262 were sold this past week while the clad proof sold another 541 to make it into the top 10 in sales.
A surprise this week was the tenth best seller for the Mint. It was the 2018 American Innovation Dollar Proof Coin. The Mint sold 431 of them this past week, bringing the total up to 184,544. This coin has been available for nearly a year now but with the 2019 coins set to be released in short order, excitement may be picking up for this unique dollar that will be produced through 2032.
