The American Numismatic Society has launched a new podcast for Numismatist, The Planchet. The new podcast can be found on virtually every podcast service including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Pocket Cast. It is free and available to everyone, even if you are not an ANS Member.
The inaugural episode of The Planchet features a conversation between Dr. Jesse Kraft, ANS Assistant Curator of the Coins and Currency of the Americas, and Dr. Andrew Reinhard, ANS Director of Publications, about how Americans spent foreign currency before the Coinage Act of 1857.

Currently, the ANS plans to produced a one-hour long podcast each month. There will also be occasional special episodes focused on ANS news and information.
To sign up to receive this new podcast, open up your favorite podcast app and search for “The Planchet”. You can also listen to it via a web player on the ANS site.
