The United States Mint has released its weekly sales report for the week ending November 15, 2020. To the surprise of no-one, the End of World War II 7th Anniversary coin and medal were at or near the top of the list, despite challenges for the Mint’s website during their sale. Further, as has been a recurring theme for much of 2020, annual product sets continued to remain top sellers for the week.
The top selling product for the Mint for the week of November 15, 2020 was the End of World War II 75th Anniversary Silver medal. Officially, the Mint shows that 19,972 of the 20,000 minted being sold. However, the medal is not available on the Mint’s site which means that in all likelihood the entire production run was sold. The Mint is reconciling sales at this point. Meanwhile the third best selling product for the Mint last week was the 24-Karat gold coin commemorating the end of World War II. 7,443 of the 7,500 are reported to be sold. Like the silver medal, it is not available on the Mint’s site which suggest they all have been sold.
Splitting the World War II anniversary products was the 2020 Proof Set. It was the second best selling product for the week, with 10,532 sets sold. That moves the total sales of the standard Proof Set to 419,981 for the year. Equally, in fourth position, was the 2020 Silver Proof Set. This set sold 3,056 sets for the week and now sits just shy of three-hundred thousand in total sales at 299,559.
The 2020 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set continued its strong sales last week. 1,949 sets were sold in the week, putting the total sales for the year at 60,594. That is roughly half of the total sales fo the same set from 2019, which is still available. Indeed, the 2019 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set was the tenth best seller for the Mint last week.
