Mint Releases Image of Tuskegee Airmen America the Beautiful Quarter

The United States Mint has released the high resolution image of the Reverse of the 2021 Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site. The design will be the last of the America the Beautiful series of Washington Quarters and is set for release early in 2021.

The release of the high resolution images follows up on the line art that the Mint released in August 2019 when the designs of it and the 2020 America the Beautiful Quarters were released by the United States Mint.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of primarily African-American military pilots (fighter and bomber) and airmen who fought in World War II. They formed the 332nd Expeditionary Operations Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces. The name also applies to the navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks and other support personnel.

Bags and Rolls of the coin will go on sale starting February 8, 2021 from the Mint. However, the 2021 Birth Set and 2021 Happy Birthday Coin Set will both have the Proof version of the coin included. The 3-coin set for the coin will be going on sale February 19, 2021.

It is expected that sales of products for this final America the Beautiful Quarter will be strong given it is the final coin but also for its depiction of the Tuskegee Airmen and their significant contribution to the efforts of the United States in World War II.
