The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report to Sunday, August 8, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 646,000 bullion coins last week. This is down from the 806,500 in last week’s report.
Sales of the American Eagle Type-2 silver bullion coin remained strong this week. The one ounce coin was the top seller to Authorized Purchasers from the Mint with 612,500 coins sold last week. For the year, 19.623 million bullion silver Eagles have been sold by the Mint. That total puts sales well ahead of last year’s 30 million sold total pace.
The American Eagle Type-2 gold one ounce bullion coin was the second top seller for last week with 15,500 coins sold. That puts its sales total at 649,500 for 2021. Meanwhile, the 1/10th ounce gold American Eagle was just behind its one ounce counterpart with 15,000 coins sold. Finally, there were 3,000 American Buffalo gold bullion coins sold to Authorized Purchasers last week. Those sales have moved the 2021 sales total for the Buffalo to 211,000.
For the year, the Mint has now sold 20.9955 million bullion coins to Authorized Purchasers. Here is a complete breakdown of this week’s sales.
