The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report to Sunday, October 24, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 642,000 bullion coins last week. This is up substantially from the 37,000 sold according to last week’s report. Indeed, every bullion coin sold by the Mint except the platinum American Eagle reported sales in the past week.
The one ounce silver American Eagle topped sales this past week with 576,000 coins sold, a week after reporting no sales last week. The additional sales brings the sales total for the year to 26.75 million coins. This continues to be on pace to top last year’s’ 30 million sales. Meanwhile, the gold one ounce American Eagle had 21,000 coins in sales last week. That brings its total sales for the year to 928,000.
The 1/2 ounce, 1/25th ounce and 1/10th ounce Eagles also saw sales last week of 3,000, 8,000 and 30,000 coins respectively.
The American Buffalo one ounce had 4,000 coins sold in the past week. That puts its total sales for the year at just shy of 300,000 (296,000). The Buffalo has already surpassed last year’s sales total.
