United States Mint Bullion Sales Report – October 31, 2021

The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report to Sunday, October 31, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 63,500 bullion coins in the past week. This is down substantially – over 90% – from the 642,000 reported last week in sales.

For the second time in the past three weeks, the Mint reported no sales of the silver one ounce American Eagle. However, all of the gold varieties of the American Eagle did have reported sales. 17,500 of the one ounce gold Eagle were sold to Authorized Purchasers last week. That puts its sales total at 945,500 for the year, a new record. Meanwhile the 1/2-ounce Eagle saw 4,000 coins sold last week. That puts its sales total at 88,000 for 2021. This is also a new record. 10,000 of the 1/25th-ounce Eagles were sold last week as well as 30,000 of the 1/10th-ounce coins. Those coins now have 150,000 and 450,000 coins sold respectively. Those too are well beyond the sales of last year.

There were no reported sales of the one ounce platinum American Eagle bullion coin last week.

Turning to the American Buffalo, another 2,000 of these one ounce bullion coins were sold last week. That puts its sales total tantalizing close to 300,000 at 298,000. This bullion coin, like the gold American Eagle coins, has already surpassed last years sales total.
