The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report to Sunday, November 7, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 517,400 bullion coins to Authorized Purchasers. This is up substantially from the 63,500 coins reportedly sold in last week’s report. Indeed, all of the American Eagle products reported sales for this week’s report.
Editors Note: The American Buffalo sales report site has not reported information since mid-week last week. Currently the page, while titled American Buffalo, is showing American Eagle sales. I have reported this to the Mint.
The one ounce Silver American Eagle had a strong week of sales with 474,500 coins sold. That has now pushed its sales total for the year to just over 27 million coins. Meanwhile, the gold one ounce American Eagle also had strong sales last week. 21,000 of the coins were purchased by Authorized Purchasers. That puts its total sales for 2021 at 966,500.
The fractional gold American Eagle coins all reported sales this week. The 1/2 and 1/25th ounce coins each had 2,000 coins sold according to the Mint’s report while the 1/10th ounce had 10,000 coins reportedly sold.
The one ounce platinum American Eagle reported sales this week for the first time since July. 7,900 of the coins were sold in the past week.
There were no American Buffalo coin sales reported but as noted above, there is an issue with the Mint page that reports those figures.
