The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic product sales report for the week ending November 14, 2021. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. The report shows that the Mint sold 75,719 products last week, fifty percent of which could be found in the single new product release within the reporting period. Sales were significantly higher than last week’s report of just over 20,000 products. For the year, the United States Mint has now sold 10,649,385 products.
The top seller, unsurprisingly, was the latest release from the Mint, the 2021 American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof Set. The four-coin set, which we now know is the final release of 2021 thanks to the release of the 2022 Production Schedule, account for fifty percent of total numismatic product sales for the Mint last week. The set sold an impressive 38,056 sets in its first week of availability. It is difficult to compare this year’s sales to last given than in previous years, the Mint sold the reverse proof coins from the American Innovation Dollar series as individual coins. However, the top selling individual coin last year had 43,274 coins sold. That means this four-coin single set, in its first week of availability, has nearly eclipsed this total.
Taking the second top selling position last week was the 2021 Proof Set. The standard Proof Set added another 18,019 sets to its sales total according to the Mint’s report. That puts its total sales at 416,377, well within striking distance of its 2020 predecessor. Last year’s set recorded 465,081 in sales. Meanwhile, the third best seller for last week was the premium proof set, the 2021 Silver Proof Set. Sales of this set were reported at 5,191 sets, putting the total sales for the year at 251,122.
The fourth top seller for the Mint last week was the 2021 American Innovation Dollar Proof set with 2,617 sets sold while the fifth top seller was the popular 2021 Christa McAuliffe Proof Silver Dollar with 857 additional coins sold.
