The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, November 6, 2022. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. According to the report, the Mint sold 421,000 bullion American Eagle and Buffalo coins to Authorized Purchasers in the last week.
As is normally the case, the one-ounce silver American Eagle was the top selling product for the Mint last week, with 408,000 coins sold. This puts total sales of the silver Eagle at 14.497 million for the year, roughly half of the total sales to this point in 2021. The silver Eagle’s one-ounce gold counterpart had reported sales of 5,000 coins. When combined with previous sales totals, the Mint now reports 840,000 of them have been sold this year. The only other American Eagle product with reports sales was the 1/2-ounce gold Eagle. The Mint reported that 1,000 of these were sold in the last week, putting its total sales at 74,000 for the year.
None of the other fractional gold or platinum American Eagles had reported sales.
Rounding out the billion sales report was the 1-ounce American Buffalo with 7,000 coins sold. The Buffalo remains well ahead of last year’s sales total with over 400,000 (405,500) coins sold in 2022.
