The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, February 12, 2023. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. The Mint reported 532,000 bullion coin sales to Authorized Purchasers last week, with all American Eagle gold and silver products and the American Buffalo having reported sales. This week’s report also reflects the first bullion sales for February.
Topping sales was the silver, one-ounce American Eagle, with 450,000 coins sold. That puts total sales for 2023 at 4.399 million, far below the 6.5 million the Mint had sold by this time last year. Additionally, all of the gold American Eagles had reported sales with the smallest fractional, the 1/10th-ounce Eagle, having the highest sales figure with 65,000 coins sold.
As for the American Buffalo one-ounce gold bullion coin, the Mint reported that 5,000 were sold in the last week. That puts total sales at 64,000 for the year.
