The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, July 2, 2023. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. The Mint reported 595,500 bullion coin sales in the past week, with reported sales across four of the seven products available for purchase by Authorized Purchasers.
The top-selling bullion product to Authorized Purchasers last week was the one-ounce silver American Eagle. The Mint reported 530,000 of the coins were sold last week. That puts total sales for the year at a paltry 9.497 million. Compared to the end of June 2022, the Mint had already sold 10.7 million of the one-ounce silver coins.
Of the gold American Eagles, only two of the four available products had reported sales. The one-ounce gold Eagle had sales of 13,500 last week, while the smallest available weight, the 1/10th-ounce Eagle, had 45,000 coins sold in the last week. There were no reported sales of the 1/2-ounce or 1/25th-ounce gold Eagle, nor of the one-ounce platinum Eagle.
Turning to the American Buffalo, the Mint reported that 7,000 of the one-ounce bullion coins were sold last week. That puts total sales at 273,500. When compared to Mint sales figures through June 2022, more American Buffalos have been sold this year – 273,500 compared to 259,500.
