The United States Mint has released its weekly Numismatic Product Sales Report for the seven days ending Sunday, November 19, 2023. The report covers numismatic product sales by the Mint, such as commemorative coins and annual sets. It is separate from the bullion sales report. According to the Mint’s report, 36,101 numismatic products were sold in the past week. Nine of the top ten selling products for the Mint last week were products released this year.
Taking the top spot in sales totals was the 2023 American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof Set. In its first week of availability, 33,467 of the five-coin sets were sold to investors and collectors. It was well clear of the second top seller for the week, the 2023 Proof Set, with 5,464 sets reported sold. Rounding out the top three was the premium 2023 Silver Proof Set. According to the Mint’s report, 1,827 sets were sold in the past week.
Digging further into the report, the Mint reported that 14,195 of the 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar Reverse Proof Sets were returned. These returns could be physical returns from buyers, but more likely are a correction of sales figures from last week.
