NGC & PMG Announce Special Designations for Dollar Coin & Bill Set

Earlier today I posted about the new special set from the United States Mint and Bureau for Engraving and Printing with a Native American Dollar and special “1959” Dollar bill from 2017. Now Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) have teamed up to bring a special designation and labels for the upcoming set.

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) are celebrating this set with special label options, including Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) labels for both the coin and the note, and a Sacagawea label for the coin. NGC and PMG are also offering a special pedigree of Coin & Currency Set. There is no additional fee for the pedigree.

When coins are submitted, a special Sacagawea label will be applied to the holder at no additional costs. Other labels, such as the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) one mentioned in the press release, are an additional charge.

As is usually the case with these special designations, there are specific processes for submitting from both companies.

  • Coins and notes can be submitted individually, but the notes must be received intact in their original panel to qualify for the Coin & Currency Set pedigree. All coins and notes submitted must be graded.
  • Submit the coins and notes from this set under the NGC and PMG Modern grading tiers or higher. Use an NGC Submission Form for coins and a PMG Submission Form for notes.
  • If you would like Mint packaging returned, select “Return Mint Packaging” on the submission form. The fee is $5 plus the cost of shipping.

Note that coins received by NGC within the first 30 days of release are eligible for Early Release and First Release designations. Additional fees apply for these designations.
