The United States Mint has announced that the 2019 American Liberty gold coin will be going on sale on Thursday, August 15, 2019. The 24-karat gold coin will be struck in high relief and will have an enhanced uncirculated finish.
While the final price of the 2019 coin is not set yet, you can expect this one ounce 99.99% pure gold coins to be around the $1800 mark. The Mint has set up their site for the coin, which can be found here. When you order the American Liberty coin, it will come to you in a black hand-lacquered hardwood presentation case along with a Certificate of Authenticity. Also, a limited number of them will be signed by Mint Director David J. Ryder.
The 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin continues the celebration of modern renditions of the iconic figure of Liberty. Its predecessor—the 2017 225th Anniversary High Relief Gold Coin™—won Best Gold Coin in Krause Publications’ 2019 Coin of the Year Awards.
As has been the case in previous years with this coin, the Mint will be limited to a production of just 50,000 coins. Further, initial sales of the coins will be limited to 1 per household. That likely will change once we roll into 2020 (as has been the case with the 2017 coins) but keep that in mind as you order. That said, these coins should still be available for a fair amount of time. The 2017 Liberty gold coin is still available from the United States Mint at $1840.
