Mint Sales Report – May 3, 2020 – Proof Sets Remain Top Sellers

The United States Mint has released its sales report for the 7-day period ending May 3, 2020. The report shows that once again, Proof Sets remain the top sellers for the Mint, both 2020 and 2019 sets across many different products.

The 2020 Proof Set with the 2020-W Jefferson Nickel Proof was the top seller by a wide margin for the week. 3,868 of the sets were sold, bringing the total sales up to 246,056 for the year. Indeed, the 2020 Proof Set was the only product that sold over 1,000 units for the week.

The second most popular product for the week was the 2019 Silver Proof Set. It added just 790 units to its total, which now stands at 396,473. Just behind it, with 595 units sold, was the 2020 America the Beautiful Quarter Silver Proof Set.

Readers who keep up with the Mint Sales Report will note that the 2020 Silver Proof Set, the top seller last week, is not in the top 10 this week. Simply put, the Mint ran out of them. Only 190,960 of the sets were initially set to be available due to production limited because of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The full report shows that 190,940 of them have been sold but they are shown as not available on the Mint’s site.

Here are the top 10 sellers for the week ending May 3, 2020 for the United States Mint.
