The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic product sales report for the week ending November 21, 2021. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. The report shows that the Mint sold 26,038 numismatic products in the previous week, must of which came from the annual Proof Set. The sales total is roughly one-third of what the Mint sold according to last week’s report. For the year, the United States Mint has now sold 10,675,423 numismatic products.
Looking into the report, nine of the top ten selling products for the Mint last week were releases from this year, with the top four selling products all annual releases. Only the 2020 American Innovation Dollar Proof set was the outlier from this year’s releases in the report (eighth in sales for last week).
Dominating sales for the past week was the 2021 Proof Set. The standard annual set added an impressive 17,382 sets to its sales total for the year. That total has now reached 433,759. Further, it puts this year’s set sales just thirty-two thousand behind that of last year, a total it should easily beat with another six weeks left in the year. Meanwhile, the second top seller was the premium annual Proof Set. The 2021 Silver Proof Set had 5,431 sets sold in the past week according to the Mint. That puts its sales total for 2021 at 256,553. Unlike the standard Proof Set, the Silver Proof Set will likely struggle to beat last year’s sales total of just over 313,000.
Coming in as the third top seller for the week last week was the 2021 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set. 2,098 of the sets were sold according to the Mint’s report, putting its sales total at just shy of 64,000 for the year (63,573). Taking the fourth top selling position was the 2021 Birth Set with 812 sets sold last week, followed closely by the 2021 United States Mint Ornament with 608 units sold.
