The United States Mint has updated its weekly bullion sales report for the week ending Sunday, July 17, 2022. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. According to this week’s report, the United States Mint sold 560,500 bullion coins in the past week to Authorized Purchasers. This, however, is slightly misleading as the report also contained updated sales figures for June. Still, it was a strong week of sales for the Mint and significantly higher than sales according to last week’s report.
According to this week’s sales report, all American Eagle and American Buffalo bullion products had recorded sales. These were lead by the one-ounce silver American Eagle with 489,000 coins sold. That puts its total sales for the year at 11.131 million coins, down nearly 8 million coins from this point last year. All of the American Eagle gold bullion products also had sales, led by the 1/10th-ounce fractional Eagle with 30,000 coins sold. Even the platinum one-ounce American Eagle made a rare appearance in this week’s sales report, with 1,000 coins sold.
Meanwhile, the one-ounce gold American Buffalo bullion coin had strong sales of 14,000 coins this past week. That puts its total sales for the year at 282,500, well above its pace of sales by this time in 2021.
