The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, August 27, 2023. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. The Mint reported 800,500 bullion coin sales in the past week, with reported sales across just three of the seven products available for purchase by Authorized Purchasers.
The top seller for last week was the one-ounce silver American Eagle. The Mint reported that 756,000 coins were sold last week, pushing total sales for 2023 past the fourteen million coin mark (14,154,000). Sales this year continue to outpace 2022 sales totals through August by over one million coins. Meanwhile, the gold one-ounce American Eagle was the second top seller with 36,500 coins reported sold. That puts total sales for this year at 719,000, just slightly behind sales through August 2022.
No other American Eagle products had reported sales.
Rounding out the sales report was the one-ounce American Buffalo gold coin, with 8,000 coins sold according to the Mint’s report. That puts total sales at 312,500 for 2023, slightly behind the 321,000 that the Mint reported sold through August 2022.
