The United States Mint has released its Circulating Coin Production Report for May 2024. The report shows that the United States Mint produced just 396.08 million coins in May. While the production total is up slightly from the April report, it continues a trend of significantly lower production by the Mint compared to the last several years. The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through Sunday, June 16, 2024. The bullion sales report reflects bullion American Eagle and American Buffalo coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different from the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint reported sales of 895,500 bullion coins, the bulk of which were the one-ounce American Eagle silver coin. The United States Mint announced today that the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury has appointed Sam Gelberd to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) as the member specially qualified by virtue of their experience in numismatics, effective April 23, 2024.
