The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through to today, July 19, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 716,500 bullion coins to Authorized Purchasers. This is down significantly from last week’s total of over 3 million but that report contained a significant number of corrections by the Mint for the months of May and June.
As usual, the one ounce silver American Eagle was the top seller for the Mint last week. 690,000 of the coins were sold. That puts the silver bullion coin’s sales for 2021 at nearly 17.5 million (17,445,500). Next was the one ounce gold American Eagle with 13,000 coins sold. For the year, 623,500 of these have been sold. Rounding out the American Eagle sales was the 1/2-ounce gold Eagle with 10,000 coins sold, bumping its total sales for the year to 56,000 coins.
The American Buffalo gold bullion coin was the only other bullion selling product reported by the Mint last week. 3,500 of the one ounce coins were purchased, putting total sales now at 207,500.
