The United States Mint has announced that the Coins and Chronicles set honoring President George H.W. Bush will be on sale later this week, on September 17th. The three coin set honors the late President Bush along with his wife, Barbara Bush, with a unique 3-coin set and 20-page historical booklet about the 41st President and First Lady. The set also comes with a postage stamp from the United States Postal Service that was released in the President’s honor.
The Coin and Chronicles Set will come with three unique coins:
- A George H. W. Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin minted at the San Francisco Mint
- The Presidential Silver Medal in the set is 99.9 percent silver and features the same designs as the Bush Presidential Bronze Medal
- The Barbara Bush First Spouse Bronze Medal bears the same central images as the First Spouse Gold Coin issued in her honor
The set is priced at $120 and 35,000 of the sets will be available. There will be a household limit of 10 when sales begin later this week. Given the unique nature of this set, it is hard to predict how well it will sell for the Mint and if it will be an item that sells out quickly. Given the low production limit, a sell out is likely.
