CCAC Releases 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Designs

After the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) meeting yesterday in Washington, D.C., we now get our first look at the proposed Obverses and Reverses of the commemorative coins. The United States Mint has released their weekly sales report. The report is dated July 14, 2019 and reports Mint sales over the previous seven days. The United States Mint has released images of the upcoming 2019 American Liberty 24-karat gold coin. The coin, set for release on August 15, 2019, has a stunning look for this year, with a flowing hair representation of Liberty on the Obverse and an eagle in flight on the Reverse. The legislation for a commemorative coin honoring Christa McAuliffe took a positive step forward this week. The Christa McAuliffe Commemorative Coin Act of 2019, Senate Bill 239, was passed on Tuesday, July 9th. The bill was introduced on January 28, 2019 with 83 of the 100 senators as cosponsors. The United States Mint has updated their monthly production report for June 2019 and it shows that the Denver and Philadelphia Mint locations produced 2,043,308,000 in the month. That brings the total production across both Mint locations for the year up to 7,600,608,000.
