The Numismatic Crime Information Center and the Portland, Oregon Police Department are asking for any information the public may have on an armed robbery that took place on August 25, 2020. The theft happened at Affordable Jewelry and Precious Metals located in East Portland. The theft left the store’s manager severely injured and dozens of coins being stolen. The report reflects that the Mint produced 1.657 billion coins in the month, a slight drop from the 1.697 produced in July 2020. Overall, the Mint has produced just over 9.8 billion coins in 2020. The United States Mint has released the official designs and images of the upcoming 2020 End of World War II 75th Anniversary Coin and Medal Program.
